What “food-grade” means

Food-grade bags are made, formulated and (ideally) tested to be safe for direct contact with food — manufacturers use approved resins/additives and follow food-contact regulations (FDA in the U.S., EU food-contact rules, FSSAI/BIS in India, etc.). This reduces the chance of harmful chemicals migrating into food.
